Google Flights - Search Experience
Flight booking is a cognitively demanding task where we tend to look for lots of variables.
Google Flights makes that experience quite pain free with its design.
Lets take a look at just 3 reasons why.
Steps to completion:
There is a clear process outlined at the top of the page that shows the process to finalize a flight.
Helpful tooltips :
This is a good example of micro-interaction. Hovering on options on the page shows helpful little tooltips showing useful information right in place. This means the user doesn't have to search for where that information is located.
There are helpful tips at the top of the page that anticipate a user’s requirements, and give useful tools to help with that. If the user can upgrade to business class for just a little extra money by clicking a button, thats a valuable addition to the experience.
Add value by fixing information location and anticipating user needs.
Nothing as such.
