Instagram - Onboarding Journey
Instagram is a social media app used to get connected with your close mates and people from different world sharing their pictures.
After downloading the app, when I first opened the app, I got impressed with the color combination and fonts used for the app. Even the logo was quite impressive.
It opened up first page which gave me two different options to login. One, to login synchronizing my Instagram account with my Facebook account. This is a nice way to get connected with my Facebook information. Secondly, I can even create a account using either my number or my email address. And in order to check whether it raises proper error or not, I entered a email address which was already used for some other account on Instagram and it rightly raised the correct error.
After entering either mobile number, it asked me to enter my full name and one password of my choice. Navigating further, it asked me to whether am ok with the user name it created automatically or want to change it. And finally my account was created with the username I liked and password of my choice.
Overall, a nice on boarding journey that Instagram provided with very clean and clear designed pages.
- Keep page colors as per the function of that page.
- Keep your design user specific to attract more and more users.
- Design your logo in a way that just by looking at the logo, user can judge what exactly the app is meant for.
- Instagram can create a small walk through of how a user can use various features on app like Direct Messaging, Following people, etc. using video.
