On last weekend in Mumbai, I went for a meet-up where I met new professionals. So, I wanted to connect with them…I asked their name on Linkedin then search by their name. I was able to see many profiles on the same name and using filters or picture identification, I was able to send invite. This process takes a lot of time to connect.
Today morning, I recognised a new icon in search bar in my LinkedIn android app. I was surprised and tapped on this icon. I was able to see a label on top “LinkedIn Code” with two tabs namely Scan and My Code. I assumed that this feature would allow me to connect with any professionals by simply scanning LinkedIn code. I was glad to see this feature.
I was able see scanning option using camera and also I could add image. I assume that I could also add code from gallery (i.e. someone’s LinkedIn Code in image from). I tried this scan feature and within seconds, I was able to see the exact profile page and one can instantly connect.
Amazing! isn’t it?
1. LinkedIn code helps you connect with someone in a simplest and instant way.
2. Users specially in India are already habituated for scanning and paying through paytm and other apps. LinkedIn code would be easy to adapt for larger audience.
3. Now, it is easy for you to share your linked profile using LinkedIn code.
For sharing our code, we have to go to our image gallery > choose an image > share using different social media. LinkedIn could give a “Share My Code” option on “My code Screen” and it would help users to share it directly.
