Neighbourly - Onboarding Journey Good User Experience
My aim is to find the best on-boarding experiences for various applications and websites. This will help me as well as others to understand what kind of on-boarding experience they should give it to their users for greater engagement.
Let me take you through one of my recent experiences. Google is known for its search engine and apps which are used by millions of people round the globe to fulfill their requirements. One such app is Neighbourly. Name itself suggests that it is related to locations near you.
No! No! Don't get confused. It is simply an social media kind of application where people visit the app and drop questions about the location they are present as well as they answer on questions related to location user is present. May be this is a way to get attached with people nearby and share knowledge.
Just hearing at its introduction from one of my cousins, I was excited to download the app and start using it.
Today finally when I started, I was amazed with the color and graphics that they have used to built the app and app justified my emotions.
It started with asking how I want to sign-up. As usual, I opted for GMAIL account.Once that was done, it asked me to register the location where I am. So I allowed GPS to track and locate me and automatically fill the location. Once that was done, I guess my 90% of the work was done. Rest of the stuff gave me a brief idea about the question and the answer pattern followed on the app.
1. Keep it simple and classy.
