Pepperfry: Lets you Shop for Furniture Using Augmented Reality
Shopping for furniture can be sometimes really confusing and time consuming. If you’re physically going down to a furniture shop, well good luck getting out of there anytime soon because every piece of furniture that you see, confuses you even more with decision making.
Thanks to the recent rise in apps on your phones, you can now shop from home. Same was my case a couple of weeks ago when I wanted to buy some furniture for my home. Initially I decided to go down to the local shop to “see and feel” the said furniture, but ended up browsing tons of products of Pepperfy.
Now the interesting point from the application.
Loved their feature of 3D augmented reality for their products.
The app allows you to take a picture of your room my accessing your camera and whichever furniture piece that you would have chosen can be placed with the help of 3D augmented reality into that photo frame of your room. This allows you to not only see how the furniture would look in your room but also make changes to its positioning.
The second feature that I liked was the wall view feature where you have the freedom to change the color of your walls and place the furniture product alongside to get a better contrast of what it would turn up to be in actuality.
Both the views had the option of zooming in and zooming out of the image and it just made life a lot easier!
1. 3D augmented reality feature could help user to see actual view of any product and change the color of the walls to get as real an image of your home as possible.
2. It save lots of time of user, as furniture product are big so it’s not easy to change once you bought.
1. They can change the message with “Tap here to select more color” from “tap here to select” it was bit confusing.
2 They can enhance the way it asks for the permission for accessing Photo, Media and Files on device and also for taking images and recoding video. People who are not sure what happens when they use 3D feature they might not be able to understand why PepperFry app wants to access of images and take images or videos.
